A Man Accused Of Decapitating A Relative And Fleeing With The Head

(PatriotWise.com) — A California man was arrested in San Francisco on Friday for allegedly decapitating a woman in her Santa Rosa home last Thursday and allegedly making off with her head, CBS News reported.

Police identified the suspect as Luis Gustavo Aroyo-Lopez, 24, of Santa Rosa. Aroyo-Lopez was on post-release community supervision at the time of his arrest after recently being released from state prison for possession of weapons and assault with a deadly weapon.

Santa Rosa police were called to the home of the victim last Thursday around 3:40 p.m. after reports of a possible homicide.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of a woman inside the home, decapitated. The woman’s head was not in the home, and police suspected that her assailant took it with him when he left.

Police did not say if the victim’s head was discovered with Aroyo-Lopez when he was taken into custody.

A witness reported seeing Aroyo-Lopez walking toward the woman’s home and knocking on the door around noon.

According to the witness, the victim appeared to be happy to see Aroyo-Lopez and invited him inside. About three hours later, she heard a friend of the victim’s run from the house, screaming that the victim had no head.

According to neighbors, Aroyo-Lopez is the victim’s grandson. However, police have not confirmed his relationship with the victim.
