Adam Schiff Accused Of Leaking Government Information

( – Former Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last week accused California Congressman Adam Schiff of leaking classified information when responding to the news that Speaker Kevin McCarthy refused to seat Schiff on the House Intelligence Committee.

During an interview on Fox News’s “Outnumbered” last Wednesday, Pompeo said during his time both as Trump’s CIA director and secretary of state, he knew that Schiff “leaked classified information that had been provided to him.”

While Pompeo could not offer any specific examples, he did say that the problem was so bad that he began restricting what information his office shared with Congress.

Co-host Emily Compagno asked Pompeo why Schiff didn’t face any accountability since leaking classified information would be, at a minimum, a felony.

Pompeo said that the process is complicated and it can be “difficult to pin down precisely what happened.”

He said whenever he provided classified information to Schiff’s office, “it ended up in places it shouldn’t have” with “alarming regularity.”

In response, Schiff’s spokeswoman Lauren French told The Hill that Pompeo’s remarks were “patently false and defamatory.” French said Schiff’s office knows that the congressman “is a favorite target for the failed lackeys” of the Trump administration, but added that no “reputable news outlet” should “repeat these falsehoods.”

In January 2021, former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell also accused Schiff’s office of “regularly” leaking classified information.

During an April 2021 interview with podcaster Lisa Booth, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton suggested that Adam Schiff could have been the source of the bogus Russian bounties to Afghan militants story in 2020.

Schiff has previously denied the accusation that his office leaked classified information.

Last Tuesday, Speaker McCarthy refused to seat both Schiff and fellow California Congressman Eric Swalwell on the House Intelligence Committee, arguing that their presence on the committee is a threat to national security.
