Mike Pompeo Says Teacher Unions Present Danger To U.S.
(PatriotWise.com) – Last week, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten as being the world’s “most dangerous person.”
In an interview with Semafor published last Monday, Pompeo said he is often asked who the world’s most dangerous person is, Kim Jong-un or Xi Jinping. He said he always answers Randi Weingarten, adding “it’s not a close call.”
Pompeo said it is the teachers’ unions that are most likely to take down the Republic because of the “filth” they teach children and the fact that so many students are unable to read, write or do math.
The 58-year-old former secretary of state hasn’t revealed if he plans to run for the Republican nomination in 2024. But when asked what he thinks Republican candidates should run on in 2024, Pompeo said GOP candidates should focus on the “timeless” central ideas of the country, including expanding freedom, limiting government, protecting freedom of religion, and “making sure we don’t teach our kids crap in schools.”
Pompeo said Republicans should outline the problems facing the country and present proposals on how to solve them.
On education, Pompeo blasted the use of the non-historical “1619 Project” in public schools, arguing that it, along with critical race theory in general, contribute to America’s decline. He explained that if children aren’t being taught that the United States is an exceptional nation, “we’re done.”
During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” last Wednesday, the odious Randi Weingarten hit back at Pompeo, claiming his attacks on her and the teachers’ unions were “hurting kids.”
She claimed Pompeo’s criticism of her makes it “harder for teachers all across America” to teach students and “bring parents and teachers together.”
Calling Pompeo’s criticism “pathetic,” Weingarten said the former secretary of state is only attacking her to “try to win a Republican primary.”
