“America’s Got Talent” Star Crashes, Gets Injured

(PatriotWise.com)- The tabloid press was all aflutter this past week because for the second time in as many years, “Britain’s Got Talent” host Simon Cowell fell off his expensive electric bicycle.

The 62-year-old Cowell broke his arm but wasn’t seriously injured after he “slipped off” and fell from his electric motorbike near his home in London’s West End last week. At the time of the accident, Cowell was traveling at only 20 mph, but he wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time which only complicated the problem.

According to the UK Sun, Cowell’s e-boke hit a wet patch and the wheels went out from under him. He was then catapulted forward over the handlebars and onto the street. Passers-by stopped to offer assistance before paramedics arrived at the scene. Cowell was then rushed to the hospital with a broken arm and a possible concussion.

Because he wasn’t wearing a helmet, Cowell’s face was blood-soaked, prompting one witness to compare him to the Phantom of the Opera.

Cowell was released later that evening sporting a yellow cast that covered his arm from the wrist to the shoulder.

This is the second time Cowell has crashed while riding his electric bike. In August 2020, Cowell was trying out his brand new e-bike in the back garden of his LA home when he lost control and was thrown off.

That accident was far more serious with Cowell having to undergo a six-hour surgery to have a metal rod inserted into his back.

At the time, Cowell considered suing the manufacturer but never went through with it.

This past week, Cowell vowed to take the necessary precautions to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

He told the UK Daily Mail on Wednesday that while he is “a bit of a nutter,” next time he rides his e-bike, he’ll be wearing a helmet.

Though the 62-year-old also suggested that it might be time for him to give up his cycling hobby altogether.
