Biden Avoids COVID During Meeting With Xi

( President Biden had a face-to-face virtual meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping on Monday. And while they touched on Taiwan, human rights, and maintaining the status quo, old Joe didn’t say one single word about the pandemic China unleashed on the world.

Yup. Not one word to President Xi about the Wuhan Institute of Virology or the pandemic that crippled our economy and killed over seven hundred thousand Americans.

Seems like a glaring omission, doesn’t it?

In his opening remarks during the video conference, Biden said that he looked forward to “candid and forthright discussions,” adding that he and Xi “never walk away wondering what the other man is thinking.”

And yet.

America is walking away from that meeting wondering why the heck the President of the United States didn’t include COVID in his “candid and forthright” discussion.

Instead, Biden repeated the White House’s go-to talking points about “competition” between the US and China and how that “straightforward competition” shouldn’t veer into conflict.

In an interview on Newsmax, China expert Gordon Chang said Biden’s omission of COVID wasn’t an oversight. Rather, this topic was avoided on purpose.

Appearing on “Wake Up America” on Tuesday, Chang said that bringing up COVID would mean that President Biden would have to do something to hold China accountable and that is something Joe Biden doesn’t want to do.

Chang, repeating Biden’s comments about avoiding conflict, said conflicts aren’t caused by a lack of communication; they are caused by the kind of communication Biden had with Xi on Monday.

Chang also pointed out that the Biden administration refuses to address the fact that China was actively subverting the United States during the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots when it was encouraging Americans to take to the streets and commit violence.

While Xi Jinping referred to Biden as a friend during their virtual meeting, Chang said the attitude toward Joe Biden in Beijing has been far less respectful. And that lack of respect for both Biden and the US is dangerous, Chang explained, “because they’re going to do things which are exceedingly reckless.”
