Biden Believes Trump Will Refuse to Accept Results of Upcoming Rematch

( — In a recent interview, President Joe Biden predicted that he would easily win re-election in November, defended his decision to run despite his advanced age, and suggested that Donald Trump would once again refuse to accept the results of the election, the New York Times reported.

In a wide-ranging interview published in The New Yorker on Monday, the typically interview-shy president asserted that he was the strongest contender to defeat Donald Trump in the 2024 election, noting that he had beat him before and would “beat him again.”

Biden told The New Yorker’s Evan Osnos that the voters couldn’t afford for him to sit out the election, suggesting that he was the one “best positioned” to beat Trump, whom he claimed “would change the nature of America.”

According to the latest CBS poll released on Sunday, Biden is trailing Trump by four points, from 48 percent to 52 percent. The New York Times/Siena poll released on Saturday showed Biden trailing Trump by five points, 43 percent to 48 percent.

The president downplayed the polling, telling Osnos that the polls in 2020 had him losing to Trump while the 2022 midterm polls predicted a “red wave.” He reminded Osnos that he had insisted that there would be no red wave and predicted that the polls were wrong about 2024 as well.

In his feature on the president, Osnos attempted to downplay voter concerns about Biden’s age and capacity to serve, noting that while Biden’s voice was “thin and clotted” and he had slowed down, during the interview, Biden “never bungled a name or a date.”

When asked about the rebellion among younger Democrats and Arab voters over his support for Israel, Biden said while he didn’t want Palestinians killed in the war in Gaza, voters should “give this just a little bit of time.”

Biden also said he did not believe that Donald Trump would concede in November if he lost again. He told Osnos that losers like Trump “are never graceful.” He suggested that Trump would try to do anything to win in November, and when he loses again, “I think he’ll contest it,” Biden said.
