(FreedomJournal.org)- Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden refused to commit to releasing a list of judges he would nominate to the Supreme Court Judge should be become president, and should a vacancy arrive. The former vice president said that unlike President Donald Trump he would not announce a list of potential nominees because, somehow, releasing a list might affect the decision making of a judge.
“First, putting a judge’s name on a list like that could influence that person’s decision-making as a judge, and that would be wrong, or at least create the perception it would have an influence,” he said.
I’m not sure what that’s meant to mean. Are you?
“Second, anyone put on a list like that, under these circumstances, would be subject to unrelenting political attacks,” he added.
What, like how the Democrats tried to smear Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a gang rapist?
Biden then suggested that he would attempt to make the process less partisan, only choosing a nominee after “consulting Democrats and Republicans in the United States Senate and seeking their advice and asking for their consent.”
Who really believes that?
It comes as President Donald Trump prepares to nominate a female judge to replace left-wing legend Justice Ruther Bader Ginsburg who lost her battle with cancer on Friday. President Donald Trump also previously challenged Biden to release a list of nominees after he updated his own list days before Ginsburg’s death to include Senator Ted Cruz and other Republican lawmakers.
President Donald Trump said recently that he believes Biden may already have nominees in mind, but that he isn’t releasing their names because they are “so extremely far left that they could never withstand public scrutiny or receive acceptance.”
“He must release a list of justices for people to properly make a decision as to how they will vote,” the president added. “It is very important that he do so.”
Biden has already committed to appointing the “first black woman to the courts” but has yet to give names.
While President Trump has vowed to nominate a woman to the courts, rumors suggest it may be a woman who was already considered for the vacancy filled by Brett Kavanaugh. Judge Amy Coney Barrett is currently the front-runner, but President Donald Trump said on Monday he would only be announcing his nominee on Friday or Saturday.
