California Suddenly Has A Problem With Illegals

( — Officials in California, a sanctuary state since 2017, have reacted with fury to the arrival of a small group of immigrants – because they arrived from Florida. A sanctuary state, or city, is one where leaders say they will not cooperate with federal immigration agencies and will afford all help and assistance to any illegal migrant who arrives at their door. However, liberal Golden State Governor Gavin Newsom threatened kidnapping charges against his Floridian counterpart when a group arrived in Sacramento on June 3rd, and a second on June 5th.

The migrants were transported through Texas and New Mexico but reportedly carried papers from the government of Florida. Newsom accused DeSantis of kidnapping saying Sunshine State officials allegedly lied to or coerced the migrants to go to California. The DeSantis administration responded with a video showing the border crossers signing consent forms and agreeing to travel to Sacramento.

A statement from Florida’s Division of Emergency Management (DOEM) read, “Through verbal and written consent, these volunteers indicated they wanted to go to California. A contractor was present and ensured they made it safely to a 3rd-party NGO. The specific NGO, Catholic Charities, is used and funded by the federal government.”

Since declaring his state to be one of sanctuary, Governor Newsom has been forced to rethink. In 2022, he said illegal immigration placed too great a strain on California and it would “break” under the pressure.

A similar situation has occurred in New York City. Mayor Eric Adams insists that the Big Apple is a welcoming place for countless immigrants, despite simultaneously complaining about their arrival and attempting to ship them out of the city to Upstate New York. Adams declared a state of emergency last year and said the city was being “destroyed.”

Republican leaders in southern states, including Florida and Texas, began transporting migrants to sanctuary areas last year. Texas Governor Greg Abbott sent a busload to the home of Kamala Harris on Christmas Eve.
