Canada Prime Minister Orders Emergency Power To Strip People Of Rights

( Controversial Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that he would invoke the Emergencies Act for the first time in his country’s history in an effort to bring to an end the Freedom Convoy protest affecting Ottawa and other parts of the country.

The Freedom Conboy trucker protest has seen thousands of people take to the streets, blocking roads with heavy machinery, trucks, and cranes, and calling for an end to Trudeau’s authoritarian and largely unnecessary COVID lockdowns and mandates.

“The federal government has invoked the Emergencies Act to supplement provisional and territorial capacity to address the blockades and occupations,” Trudeau said.

It’s a curious decision, too, given that Trudeau literally took a knee when Black Lives Matter was busy burning down buildings in hundreds of cities across the United States and Canada.

Protesting the death of a criminal in the United States is legitimate, but working-class Canadians protesting his authoritarian and unprecedented mandates is not?

During a press conference, Trudeau said that the blockades have disrupted the lives of too many Canadians, particularly in the capital city of Ottawa.

“This is not a peaceful protest,” he said about the peaceful protest.

He did not provide any evidence of violence from Freedom Convoy truckers – likely because there simply isn’t any.

Now that the Prime Minister has invoked the act, without laying out the legal justification for doing so, he will be given sweeping powers to override provincial governments, he’ll be able to ban public assembly in some locations, and he will even have the authority to remove people and property from certain spaces.

In other words, Trudeau finally gets to be a dictator…while at the same time not breaking Canadian law.

The protests are either about to come to an end, or things are about to get nasty.
