CDC Director Says It’s “CRITICALLY IMPORTANT” for Schools to Reopen, Dems Not Happy

( At every turn, the Democrats and teachers unions have stood in the way of children returning to school. While Republicans and President Donald Trump continue pushing for schools to reopen to give children the learning experience they need, Democrats continue to claim that it’s unsafe. This, despite the fact that children are the least likely to be affected by the virus.

Democrat attempts to stop schools reopening may be quashed soon, though, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a statement explaining the importance of opening schools in the fall.

Dr. Robert R. Redfield, the director of the CDC, tweeted that it is “critically important for our public health to open schools this fall.”

“CDC resources will help parents, teachers and administrators make practical, safety-focused decisions as this school year begins,” he added.

Redfield also told parents on Twitter that school closures have “disrupted normal ways of life” and have had “negative health consequences” on young people. He included a link to CDC resources on the safe reopening of schools, in what appears to be a direct response to Democrats and teachers unions.

In the new advisory documents, the CDC stresses how important it is for the social development of children to go back to school in the fall. As it stands, many school districts are opting for rotational returns to school where young people return to significantly smaller classrooms a couple of days per week, and spending the other days at childcare. In New York, hundreds of thousands of children will be granted childcare “seats” on the days that they are unable to attend school.

“Children appear to be at lower risk for contracting COVID-19 compared to adults,” the CDC guidelines explain. “To put this in perspective, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of July 17, 2020, the United States reported that children and adolescents under 18 years old account for under 7 percent of COVID-19 cases and less than 0.1 percent of COVID-19-related deaths.”

Now that this is established fact, supported by the CDC, will the Democrats reverse course? Or will they continue opposing the reopening of schools because they know it’s what President Donald Trump wants?
