(PatriotWise.com) – Record numbers of Chinese citizens are crossing the southern American border, according to the US Customs and Border Protection agency. Since October last year, 4,366 Chinese nationals entered the United States via this route. This represents only 0.42% of the total number but it is causing serious concern because of rising tensions between the two countries and fears about the communist nation spying inside the US. The figure shows that there has been an enormous jump in Chinese immigrants since Biden entered the White House. In 2021, the number was only 13.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said, “Our research institutions, our colleges and universities have been completely infiltrated by the communist Chinese. This is just another attempt.” He added that President Biden is compromised on the issue and is in denial that any spying is taking place.
The long history of espionage accusations involving communist China came to the forefront in recent months with the presence of unidentified balloons and other apparatus flying over US territory. China denied that a balloon, that was shot down by the American military, was engaged in spying and insisted it was merely carrying out meteorological research. The issue caused diplomatic tensions and caused Secretary of State Antony Blinken to cancel a scheduled trip to Beijing.
In a related development, it has emerged that Chinese officials have been courting relationships with political figures in Utah. According to an investigation conducted by Associated Press, lawmakers in the conservative state have delayed or opposed legislative proposals disapproved of by China, as well as holding back resolutions critical of the communist party. Frank Montoya Jr., a retired FBI counterintelligence agent, said that Utah is an important foothold for China, and if the Chinese can succeed in winning the support of officials there, it can do the same in New York City and elsewhere. Security experts claim that making inroads locally is an effective Chinese tactic that allows it to gain influence quietly and under the radar.
