Dead Marine’s Sister Exposes White House Excuse About Afghanistan

( — The sister of a US Marine killed during the American withdrawal from Afghanistan has lashed out at the White House for blaming the chaos on the Trump administration. Roice McCollum’s 20-year-old brother died while posted to Kabul airport in August 2021. An explosion killed him and 170 other people.

McCollum, from Wyoming, said she was disgusted by President Biden’s recent remarks that laid the blame for the tragedy on his predecessor. “Of course Biden would blame it on Trump, he said a couple of days ago they have to do everything in their power to keep Trump from getting elected again. It’s just propaganda. They are trying to manipulate public opinion,” she said.

A report published by the White House recently said that the Trump administration had “severely constrained” the President’s decisions during the US withdrawal in the summer of 2021. As a result, American troops had only days to evacuate over 120,000 people from the country. In the chaos, 13 American military personnel and more than 200 Afghans died.

The White House document remains classified, but a summary was published. In it, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the military had inherited a host of problems from the Trump administration. He said Biden had acted upon advice and assessments, some of which were wrong.

Trump hit back on his Truth Social media account, saying, “Morons in the White House playing a new disinformation game – Blame TRUMP for their grossly incompetent SURRENDER in Afghanistan.”

The withdrawal from Afghanistan brought America’s longest war to an end. However, the power vacuum left behind was soon filled by a resurgent Taliban, who regained control over the nation in only 10 days. The Islamic extremists soon implemented sharia law, and tens of thousands fled.

The US invaded Afghanistan following the terror attacks on New York and the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. The government believed Osama Bin Laden, who led the attacks, was hiding in the country.
