Democrat Lawmaker Screams “We Need Trans People”

( — A Democrat lawmaker in Nebraska shouted wildly during a debate on so-called “gender-affirming care.” State Senator Machaela Cavanaugh was punching the air and slamming her hand on a table while repeatedly chanting, “We need trans people, we love trans people.” She appeared to break down in tears as she told trans activists that she was fighting for them today and will continue fighting for them tomorrow.

The bizarre incident occurred as Nebraska became the 18th US state to ban surgery on young people to change their gender. Such surgeries, which the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics condone, involve removing healthy breast tissue from young girls who believe they are boys and cutting off the genitals of young boys who believe they are girls. “Gender-affirming care” also includes providing children with drugs that stop their bodily development in its tracks. These are known as “puberty blockers.”

The legislation passed the single-chamber Nebraska legislature by a large majority, and Republican Governor Jim Pillen has confirmed he will sign it into law. Also passed was the Preborn Child Protection Act, which bans abortion after 12 weeks gestation. Statistics show that 86% of abortions in Nebraska are performed before that time.

Protestors stormed the building during the debates, and police made six arrests.

Nebraska is the latest state to pass such legislation and the latest to be beset by radical leftist activists. In late March, lawmakers in Florida faced a similar raid in Tallahassee when trans activists stormed the building. The same thing happened in Oklahoma in February. On that occasion, around 150 people chanting “Trans lives matter” protested plans to end transgender surgical alterations on people under 26.

On April 3rd, the American Civil Liberties Union said that a total of 417 bills had been introduced across the US this year, which they claim target “LGBTQ+” communities. These include bans on gender-altering surgeries for children and laws prohibiting schools from propagating radical left-wing ideas on gender and race.
