AG Calls Out DOJ for Lack of Impartiality
(PatriotWise.com) – Before the Midterm election, the Justice Department announced that it would send federal agents to monitor the polls nationwide, ostensible to allay fears of voter intimidation at polling places. And while this is done during every election, some election experts believed that the partisanship in the Biden DOJ would have the opposite effect.
Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline, the founder of the election integrity group the Amistad Project, told Just the News that there is “an abiding concern” that the Biden DOJ isn’t “focused on the law or impartiality but partisanship.”
He said local officials have expressed concern that federal authorities are disregarding the constitutional authority of states to secure their elections and “ensure their own voting processes are carried out.”
Last Monday, the Justice Department announced it would monitor the polls in 64 jurisdictions across 24 states to ensure compliance with federal voting rights laws.
But since the Civil Rights Division of Biden’s DOJ is run by radical leftists, the news went over like a lead balloon.
Among the jurisdictions the DOJ planned to monitor were Florida’s Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
Late Monday, Brad McVay, general counsel to Florida’s Department of State, informed the Civil Rights Division that its monitors were “not permitted” inside polling places under Florida law.
McVay cited Section 102.031(3)(a) of the Florida Statutes which lists the people allowed to enter “any polling room or polling place,” noting that personnel from the Department of Justices “are not included on the list.”
McVay added that even if the DOJ monitors qualify as law enforcement, “absent some evidence concerning the need for federal intrusion” or a federal statute that “preempts Florida law,” the presence of federal law enforcement in polling places would be “counterproductive and could potentially undermine confidence in the election.”
During the Trump administration, the DOJ sent monitors to 25 jurisdictions during the 2018 midterms and to 44 jurisdictions during the 2020 election. In 2016, the Obama Justice Department sent monitors to 67 jurisdictions nationwide.
