(PatriotWise.com)- Former President Donald Trump will headline a National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser in Dallas, Texas on May 9.
The event, dubbed “Countdown to the Majority” will be held at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel to raise money for Texas Republican congressional candidates running in the midterms.
Recent generic congressional polling from Rasmussen gives Republicans an 11-point advantage over Democrats, 50 percent to 39 percent.
The party controlling the White House almost always loses congressional seats in the first midterm election. And with Joe Biden suffering from chronically bad polling, 2022 is shaping up to be a bloodbath for the Democrat Party.
With the slim Democrat majority in the House and an evenly divided Senate, as it is, it won’t take much for Republicans to regain control of Congress. But couple the slim majorities to the crushing economic news like 40-year high inflation and ever-increasing consumer prices, Republicans are in an excellent position for a massive Red Wave in November.
In Texas particularly, Democrats are facing strong headwinds. Redistricting gave Republicans 24 of the 38 districts in Texas. Meanwhile, Hispanic voters in traditionally-Democrat areas of the state are swinging toward Republicans, in large part due to the flood of illegal aliens unleashed on border towns courtesy of Joe Biden’s open borders policies.
The May 9 Dallas fundraiser is certain to rake in quite a bit of money for Texas Republican House candidates as Donald Trump remains a popular figure among Republican voters.
In the Emerson College poll released on Tuesday, the former president has a 3-point lead over President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 match-up.
What’s more, Trump enjoys a 12-point favorability advantage over the sitting President in the Emerson poll, with 59 percent to Biden’s 47 percent.
