(PatriotWise.com) – A drag queen ambassador for the U.S. Navy may face an investigation for breaking military rules, according to The Daily Wire. Joshua Kelley, also known by his stage name “Harpy Daniels,” was appointed to be the “digital ambassador” for the branch tasked with increasing recruitment. But earlier this week he was accused of supporting partisan politics and having contempt for his command.
In response to these behaviors, America First Legal sent a letter to Navy officials, including Admiral Michael M. Gilday, calling for an investigation. Attorney Jacob Meckler is arguing that an investigation is appropriate in this case because of the branch’s previous actions toward those who are politically conservative. He says that Kelley’s violated the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) by misusing his uniform for personal gain, which involves engaging in partisan politics.
Kelley’s tweets show him openly berating the military and his command, as well as denouncing the former president and Commander in Chief Donald Trump. His commentary extends to criticizing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his bill empowering parents in schools and prohibiting teachers from talking to students about gender identity and other inappropriate subjects.
The group documented Kelley’s behavior, which shows posting graphic images on social media, as well as politically charged language in support of Democrats. This does not come as a surprise to many. Kelley performed at a “child-friendly” drag show hosted by the Air Force on Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia last year, according to American Pigeon.
It is unclear if the investigation will be pursued. Admiral Gilday was himself criticized for updating the Navy’s reading list in accordance with leftist politics. His reading list included books such as, “How to be an Anti-Racist.” But the military’s left-leaning stance extends beyond the Navy. In June 2021, Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley blamed the Capitol riot on “white rage,” according to American Pigeon.
