Elon Musk Reveals He’s Considering Launching His Own Tech Platform

(PatriotWise.com)- Elon Musk voiced concern about de facto bias in Twitter’s algorithm last week. He made those comments on the offending platform.

Musk stated.” I’m worried about de facto bias in “the Twitter algorithm” having a major effect on public discourse.”

“How do we know what’s really happening?” he asked.

On Friday, the Telsa CEO declared, “Free expression is fundamental to a healthy democracy.”
He then posted a poll, asking respondents to answer the question-

“Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?”

Musk added that the “consequences of this poll will be important” and implored respondents to “Please vote carefully.”

The results were emphatic.”

● Yes- 29.6%
● No – 70.4%

Musk followed up his tweet thread by declaring that the “Twitter algorithm should be open source.”

This induced former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to jump in.

“The choice of which algorithm to use (or not) should be open to everyone,” said Dorsey.

On Saturday, Musk tweeted this-

@elonmusk Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy. What should be done?

Free speech is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you believe Twitter rigorously adheres to this principle?

Is a new platform needed?

That’s when Mike Cernovich, the conservative writer and pundit, weighed in-.

@Cernovich If you’re a leftist making death threats against conservatives. or organizing riots, Twitter respects your freedom of speech. Twitter also respects the freedom of speech for media hoaxes like when every major outlet framed an innocent Covington high school kid.

Musk responded, “Doesn’t sound very balanced.”

ThenTweeter @PPathole asked the “money shot” question-

Would you consider building a new social media platform, @elonmusk? One that would consist an open source algorithm, one where free speech and adhering to free speech is given top priority, one where propaganda is very minimal. I think that kind of a platform is needed.

Musk gave the answer free-specch proponents were waiting for-

“Am giving serious thought to this,” Musk tweeted.
