(PatriotWise.com)- Elon Musk, the CEO and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, said during a video call to the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit recently that the world needs more human beings, not fewer.
The statement, considered controversial to climate extremists who often tell people to have fewer children and put less of a strain on the environment, appeared to be a reaffirmation of previous comments made by Musk.
Musk, who believes that human beings must leave planet Earth and populate Mars within the next century, said that there are simply not enough people on the planet and that a low birth rate will destroy civilization.
“I can’t emphasize this enough – there are not enough people,” he told the summit. “One of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birth rate and the rapidly declining birth rate.”
He acknowledged how there are many people, including smart people, who say that the world’s population is growing to quickly – but that he believes it’s the opposite.
“Please look at the numbers — if people don’t have more children, civilization is going to crumble, mark my words,” he said.
As one of the greatest scientific visionaries of his generation, it’s hard to believe that people won’t take him seriously when he says this. As the man who made electric cars viable and literally built rocket ships that can be reused and landed vertically after leaving the earth’s atmosphere, he has some real credibility when he says this.
The last time Musk said this was in 2017, when he shared a tweet in response to an article from the New Scientist complaining about the possibility of a “population bomb.”
“The world’s population is accelerating towards collapse, but few seem to notice or care,” he said at the time.
What do you think…is he right?
