Elon Musk Under Investigation For Allegedly Buying Glass House

(PatriotWise.com) — Tesla opened an internal probe to determine whether the millions in glass ordered by the company were intended to be used in the construction of Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s mysterious glass house project, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The secret project, known within Tesla as “Project 42,” called for the construction of a glass-walled building the designs of which included residential features like bedrooms, a kitchen, and bathrooms, sources told the Journal.

Described as a home for Musk, the building would be located near Tesla’s Austin headquarters. Renderings of the project show a waterfront structure featuring a waterfall with the Tesla headquarters in the background.

A Tesla order for millions worth of specialized glass prompted concerns among some in the electric vehicle company who were not aware of the purpose of the order. These concerns resulted in an internal probe into the possible misuse of company resources and whether Musk was directly involved.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the results of the internal probe into the glass order could not be learned and it is not clear if the glass was ever delivered.

Likewise, the current status of the secretive Project 42 is not known.

According to Forbes, the plans for the futuristic building stand in sharp contrast to Elon Musk’s supposed low-maintenance lifestyle.

Last year, Musk boasted in a tweet that his residence in Boca Chica, Texas which he rents from his company SpaceX was “literally” about $50,000.

However, it was reported that Musk lived in an 8,000-square-foot mansion owned by PayPal co-founder Ken Howery, a personal friend of Musk.

Musk also said that the only house he owns is a Bay Area residence used for events.

In 2020, after vowing that he would not own a house, the billionaire sold several California homes for $130 million.
