(PatriotWise.com) – Ex-FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker says President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents is being handled with “kid gloves,” in contrast to former President Donald Trump.
Swecker pointed out the “glaring disparity” between how the FBI has responded to the alleged mishandling of classified documents between Biden and Trump.
“You know, it’s kid gloves, it’s going about it in a very nice way, very genteel,” Swecker said in an interview with Fox News, where he pointed out that this is yet another instance of discrepancy between how Republican and Democrat leaders are handled.
According to Swecker, there are notable differences in Biden’s and Trump’s document-related cases. And Swecker would know. He spent 24 years as an FBI special agent.
Before he retired, Swecker spent the later years of his FBI career as the criminal investigative division’s assistant director. He says Biden’s case has been handled with a “soft touch,” as opposed to Trump’s. According to Swecker, the “left of the political aisle” gets an entirely different treatment than the right.
“On the right side, they come in with swat teams and search warrants and come hard,” he told Fox News. “It shouldn’t be that way.”
Instead, Swecker drew on his expertise and knowledge of the bureau’s operations to lay out how Trump’s issue should have been handled instead. First, he stated that it’s not ideal for the FBI to issue search warrants, as was the case at Mar-a-Lago. He said subpoenas should be issued first.
Instead, the FBI raided Trump’s home outright.
In December 2022, it was reported that classified documents had been found at Biden’s Penn Biden Center in Washington and at his home in Wilmington, Delaware. The documents dated back to his days serving on the US Senate. This month, more documents were found at his home.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed a special counsel, former US Attorney Robert Hur, to investigate Biden’s documents. The investigation is particularly aimed at Biden’s time as Vice President during the Obama years.
