(PatriotWise.com) — Rudy Guiliani, who was instrumental in the release of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop, said last week that it is unlikely Hunter will testify before the House given the evidence of his crimes, Newsmax reported.
Last Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer announced that his committee had subpoenaed both Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden, as well as several other members of the Biden family.
While appearing on Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling: The Balance” last Thursday, Giuliani said he couldn’t imagine Hunter or any of his allies cooperating with the Oversight Committee. He said some of those who testify would probably plead the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions.
Giuliani said that from what he has seen on Hunter’s laptop and other evidence he has compiled, there would be “no way” Hunter could “answer these questions.”
According to Chairman Comer, the committee has also requested transcribed interviews with Hunter’s wife Melissa Cohen, James Biden’s wife Sara, and the late Beau Biden’s widow Hallie Biden.
The committee has also subpoenaed Hunter’s business associate Rob Walker and has requested transcribed interviews with former business associate Tony Bobulinski and Hallie Biden’s sister Elizabeth Secundy.
In a statement last Wednesday, Chairman Comer said that by following the money, the Oversight Committee has compiled evidence showing that President Joe Biden was aware of and participated in “his family’s influence-peddling schemes,” which he also “benefited from.”
Comer said the next logical step would be for the committee to question Biden family members and their associates based on the evidence found.
Hunter’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, said in a statement that the subpoena was “yet another political stunt” the committee is using to distract from its failure to prove any of its “wild and now discredited conspiracies.”
Paul Fishman, an attorney for James Biden, said there was “no justification” for the committee subpoenaing his client, arguing that James Biden “never involved” his brother in any of his business dealings.
