“Happy Days” Actor Is Running For Mayor

(PatriotWise.com)- Is Richie Cunningham’s friend Potsie Weber running for mayor?

Former “Happy Days” star Anson Williams recently announced at a local city council meeting that he plans to run for mayor of Ojai, California.

During the public comment portion of the June 28 city council meeting, the 72-year-old former actor said Ojai needs “leadership that inspires a collaborative team,” according to the Ojai Valley News.

Whether Williams has filed with the city clerk’s office to run for mayor is not clear. City candidates have until July 18 to formally declare their candidacy with the city clerk’s office.

His former “Happy Days” co-star, Henry Winkler, quote-tweeted a KABC-TV reporter’s tweet about Williams’ possible candidacy, replying “You have my vote.”

Potsie is a typical Hollywood leftist who supported Joe Biden in the 2020 election. He has in the past attacked Republican politicians like Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as well as Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

If he follows through on his threat to run for mayor, he would face incumbent Mayor Betsy Stix.

After “Happy Days” was finally mercifully canceled in 1984, Potsie began working as a producer and director. He produced the 1980 movie “Skyward” and directed episodes of TV shows like “Baywatch,” “Charmed,” “Lizzie McGuire,” and “Melrose Place.”
