Henry Kissinger Predicts China Will Not Be Threat To Taiwan

(PatriotWise.com)- While the international community grows ever more concerned over China’s aggressive military posturing over Taiwan, the 98-year-old Henry Kissinger remains confident that China will make no move against the island nation.

In an interview on CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” this Sunday, the former Secretary of State who played a significant role in establishing US/China relations told Zakaria that he doesn’t expect an “all-out attack” against Taiwan, as least as far as he can see.

Kissinger, who heads up an international consulting group with close ties to business in China, told Zakaria that everyone wants to be seen as a “China hawk.” He dismissed the idea that China’s “primary objective” is to “dominate the world.”

And while he admits that the United States should challenge the world’s other military and economic superpower, he doesn’t think there should be “an automatic rivalry in competition.”

Kissinger also praised President Biden for trying to work with President Xi Jinping to find common ground between the US and China. He said Biden is moving toward a “different tone,” but doesn’t think doing so means Biden is “yielding to China.”

Spoiler alert: Biden is yielding to China and the 98-year-old Kissinger is a fool.

And while Kissinger doesn’t believe that China will take military action against Taiwan, at the same time, he doesn’t think China will back down on its claim over the island nation.

Kissinger also appeared to voice support for Beijing’s One China Policy, telling Zakaria that he believes the “ultimate joining” of Taiwan and China is Beijing’s objective, pointing out that Taiwan has historically been a part of China and was only separated when Japan took it “by force.”
