High School French Teacher Investigated After Viral Video Surfaces

(PatriotWise.com) — A California high school teacher is under investigation after being caught on camera Tuesday hurling racist and anti-immigrant invectives at people at a Santa Clarita gas station, CBS News reported.

Gnel Frankian, who began teaching French at Moorpark High School just weeks ago, was captured on video launching into a profanity-laced tirade in which he is heard telling the person who filmed the incident, “Get the f*ck out of here, illegal!”

Frankian also shouted at bystanders and a food vendor who had set up a cart outside the gas station. According to the food vendor, Frankian got out of his car to confront him about where he set up his food cart.

Frankian has not been at school since the incident as the district investigates.

In a memo sent to parents after the video was released, Moorpark Unified School District said it was aware of the video and said it had taken “swift and appropriate action” to investigate the matter fully.

Moorpark High School student Brady Moses told CBS Los Angeles that students were surprised that the man on the video was one of their teachers.

When asked if he thought Frankian should remain at the school, Moses said no.

Moorpark Unified School District officials said on Wednesday that Frankian was put on administrative leave, noting that racism and hate speech will not be tolerated.

The district said in a statement that hate speech in “any form” does not reflect the district or its culture, nor does it “align with our core beliefs.”

The district said it is providing counselors for students who might have been traumatized by the video.
