(PatriotWise.com)- Failed presidential candidate and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton has never been shy about her hatred of Republican voters, but during a recent podcast interview with Jennifer Palmieri, her former communications director from her last presidential campaign, she went even further than she normally does.
“You know, democracy is the balancing of interests and rights, and unfortunately at this time, the gun worshipers have a huge advantage because of the filibuster and because of their shameless exploitation of people’s unwarranted fears,” she said.
What was that about balancing interests?
Clinton suggested that the concern about Democrats ending the Second Amendment is “unwarranted,” despite President Joe Biden already having committed to heavily taxing existing gun owners and making it more difficult to purchase guns – and potentially impossible for some law-abiding citizens by implementing FBI background checks not limited by time.
We talk so much about the right to bear arms in America. @HillaryClinton wants to change the narrative.
What about the rights of everyone else? The right to go to work, to school, or to the grocery store without fear?

During the conversation, Clinton hit out at Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz and referred to his colleagues and supporters as “his ilk,” wrongly claiming that they were using rhetoric to scare people away from the Democrats’ sweeping gun control proposals.
“The opportunists on the other side, like Cruz and his ilk, they know better, and they are in the position of trying to keep people really riled up and scared that sensible gun legislation like we had in the ‘90s for 10 years will somehow undermine their rights,” she claimed, opportunistically.
Clinton’s assertion that Republicans are against measures designed to stop gun crime, or guns getting into the hands of criminals, is wrong.
Senator Cruz reintroduced legislation this year, following the mass shootings in March, that would criminalize straw purchases. This refers to a sale made by an agent to somebody ineligible to make the purchase by first purchasing it themselves. The legislation would also allow anybody who legally sells guns to access a National Crime Information Center database to ensure that a firearm has not been stolen before it is sold again. Finally, it would also improve the FBI system for performing background checks.
Why is Hillary Clinton and her “ilk” refusing to work with Republicans on these common-sense gun reforms?
