Illegal Immigrant Bites Off a Police Sergeant’s Finger

(PatriotWise.com) — An illegal immigrant from Brooklyn last week bit off the tip of a police sergeant’s finger in a Queens precinct holding cell after being arrested following a wild car chase, the New York Daily News reported.

Lenni Rodriguez-Cruz, 28, was arrested last Wednesday night after NYPD officers spotted a Nissan Altima with bogus out-of-state plates driving on Liberty Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. When the expired plates came back as registered to another vehicle, the officers attempted to pull the Nissan over, but Rodriguez-Cruz took off, leading police in a wild pursuit.

Rodriguez-Cruz sped down Liberty Avenue and cut through downtown Jamaica’s Rufus King Park, with multiple people jumping out of the way of his Nissan as it careened through the park. He then drove against traffic on Hillside Avenue before crashing into four cars, including a police car, near the Grand Central Parkway service road on Parsons Boulevard.

Police arrested Rodriguez-Cruz and took him to the 103rd Precinct in Queens, where the chaos continued.

According to the NYPD, while being placed in a holding cell, Rodriguez-Cruz “began to act disorderly.” During the fray, Rodriguez-Cruz bit off the tip of the sergeant’s finger, causing what the police described as “a serious physical injury.” The sergeant was taken to Jamaica Hospital.

A photo posted in the Daily News shows the sergeant in the hospital holding up his injured left ring finger.

Rodriguez-Cruz was charged with ten counts, including driving under the influence, reckless driving, fleeing a traffic stop, and assault with intent to cause disfigurement or dismemberment. He was arraigned on Friday in Queens Criminal Court, where he pleaded not guilty. His bail was set at a $350,000 bond or $250,000 cash.

Police sources told Fox News Digital that Rodriguez-Cruz is an emotionally disturbed illegal immigrant.
