(PatriotWise.com)- Karine Jean-Pierre, the new press secretary at the White House, is not getting off to a very good start.
She has difficulty responding to direct questions, she reads quite a bit from her notes, and she honestly appears to be out of her league.
A recent critique written on her performance by media critic Joe Concha was published, and while his judgment was harsh, it was accurate.
Concha said that after seeing her do her first four appearances as the president’s spokesperson, there is only one word to describe her: amateur.
He said that the White House press secretary is one of, if not the, hardest white-collar jobs in the world. As we saw with Jean-Pierre’s predecessor Jen Psaki, the job often means defending things that can’t be defended. And when 79 percent of voters think the country is going in the wrong direction and the public’s approval of how the president is handling the economy and the border is stuck in the 20s, that’s not a job most people would want.
And Jean-Pierre is not up to it.
There is no confidence, and there is no conviction. Consider this conversation between the new press secretary and Peter Doocy.
Doocy asked how raising taxes on corporations makes gas, used cars, and food cheaper for the average American?
What followed was akin to a high school student putting together phrases to satisfy a term paper’s word count requirement.
Jean-Pierre meandered and wove her way, unconvincingly, toward some semblance of an answer.
But no answer was given. That is often the case, but some do it deftly. Some do it like Jean-Pierre – horribly.
Another reporter inquired on Wednesday if “the stock market has reached a new level of anxiety at the White House.” The topic arose when equities declined for the sixth consecutive day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 1,100 points in two years.
Jean-Pierre: “No, we don’t. We don’t keep an eye on that every day. So, I’m not going to say anything more about that.”
So, even though more than 144 million Americans own stock and many more have money in 401Ks for retirement, the White House isn’t paying attention. America, sleep tight.
The leftist media adores Jean-Pierre for reasons that have nothing to do with competence. She just happens to fill several “diversity” requirements, and that is all that concerns the left.
