Joe Biden’s State Dept Halted A Trump-Era ‘Crisis Response’ Plan

( President Joe Biden has spent much of his time in the White House purposely reversing decisions made by former President Donald Trump – and often to his disadvantage. That was evident with the border crisis, and it’s evident with the Afghanistan crisis.

Reports revealed this week how the Biden administration purposely pulled a State Department program that was designed to make swift and safe evacuations of Americans from Afghanistan easier to execute in the event of a Taliban takeover over the country. It means that several months before the Biden administration catastrophically failed in its efforts to safely withdraw U.S. troops from the country, the White House was making decisions that put Americans in danger for the sake of ending a Trump-era policy.

The “Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau” was specifically established to oversee diplomatic, medical, and logistical matters relating to Americans overseas, and would have been an extremely important part of the Trump administration’s planned withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

From the start, President Donald Trump said that the Afghanistan withdrawal would be based on the conditions on the ground, and if it went wrong, then the United States would go right back in and fix it before Americans were hurt.

According to a sensitive but unclassified document from the State Department, from Deputy Secretary of State Brian P. McKeon, the decision to ax the plan was made in February and confirmed by the Senate the next month.

The document, which was published on June 11, 2021, directs the State Department to “direct the discontinuation of the establishment, and termination of, the Contingency and Crisis Response bureau.” It also instructs the department to direct a review of Department capabilities and requirements.

Former President Trump responded to the decision by explaining how his administration “prioritized keeping Americans safe” while “Biden leaves them behind.”

Who in their right mind would cancel a project like this, knowing that the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan was likely to result in Americans being put in danger?
