Kyle Rittenhouse’s Attorney Claims He Is Broke

(PatriotWise.com) — Kyle Rittenhouse’s lawyer revealed last week that the 20-year-old, who was acquitted for killing two Black Lives Matter rioters and injuring a third in self-defense, is broke, The UK Independent reported.

In an appearance on Court TV marking the second anniversary of Rittenhouse’s acquittal, attorney Mark Richards said his client has lost everything since he was acquitted.

According to Richards, despite the belief among many that Rittenhouse made a lot of money off of his acquittal, he has been working hard just to support himself.

Richards said while Rittenhouse isn’t exactly living “paycheck-to-paycheck,” he is “living to support himself.” He said he hoped that Rittenhouse “does re-engage in his studies,” but for now, he is working full time, being a law-abiding citizen, and “doing something that he enjoys.”

Rittenhouse has openly discussed his current financial situation during an appearance on Fox News now that he is facing wrongful death lawsuits over the deaths of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, the two rioters whom Rittenhouse shot and killed in self-defense in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a Black Lives Matter riot in August 2020.

John Huber, Anthony Huber’s father, filed a wrongful death suit against Rittenhouse, the Kenosha Police Department, and the city of Kenosha, alleging that his son’s constitutional rights were violated.

The estate of Joseph Rosenbaum also filed a wrongful death lawsuit in August and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.

Rittenhouse has so far raised $250,000 for his legal defense.

To earn some additional money, Rittenhouse recently announced the upcoming release of his book “Acquitted,” which he said will offer the “real and honest version” of what happened that night in Kenosha and his subsequent trial.

In July, Rittenhouse filed papers with the Secretary of State’s Office in Texas to set up the Kyle Rittenhouse Foundation, a nonprofit group committed to fighting against gun control.
