(PatriotWise.com)- The lawyer representing the parents of a child who died in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting gave conspiracy theorist Alex Jones a dressing down in court.
The session had come to an end for the day at that point.
Jones spent years alleging that families who lost loved ones in the horrific shooting in 2012 at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, were lying about their deaths. He was found to be responsible for defamation in November of this year. Jones has been quite vocal about his belief that the killings were fake.
On Tuesday, the founder of InfoWars took the stand during the damages portion of the trial. During this phase, the jury would decide how much money would be given to the victims.
Jones remarked at one point during his testimony that he was experiencing throat pain. After the court had adjourned, he spoke with Scarlett Lewis and Neil Heslin, the parents of Jesse Heslin, who was murdered in the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School when he was six years old.
Lewis, who had just testified a few hours before, is shown on a video giving Jones a bottle of water to help soothe his sore throat.
A few seconds later, Jones is seen extending his hand to Heslin, and shortly after that, Heslin’s lawyer, Mark Bankston, reminds his client that Alex Jones said he is “slow and autistic.”
Jones corrects the lawyer and says, “No, I’m slow and autistic,” which appears to be Jones’ attempt at soliciting sympathy.
Bankston circles back and barks, “That’s it, we’re not talking anymore.” “You won’t be able to pull this off. That doesn’t even merit a second consideration! Nothing could be further from the truth.”
Following this, Jones asks, “Why? Because you’re no longer able to provide them with phony videos?
The frustrated attorney yells at Jones, “Oh, shut your mouth!”
Jones is heard later in the clip saying, “Edited tapes. You just got caught.”
Based on the excerpt, it is not apparent what allegations Jones is making.
Earlier in the day, Lewis provided testimony on her son’s slaying-
“I wanted to tell you to your face because I wanted you to know that I am a mother in the first place, and everything else comes second,” she said. “And I know that you are a parent and that my son existed,” stated Lewis to Jones.
