(PatriotWise.com)- In a rather startling development, “Squad” member Rashida Tlaib appears to have lost the support of the Democrat-supporting Washington Post. Just how loathsome must a Democrat be to get the WaPo to turn on her?
In a piece published this week, Left-leaning columnist Dana Milbank hammered Tlaib accusing her of employing consistently bigoted tactics against members of the American Jewish community.
What took him so long? It isn’t as if Rashida Tlaib just started being an anti-Semite.
Milbank specifically cited some recent comments Tlaib made while speaking to the Democratic Socialists of America. During her speech, Tlaib identified the ways in which Israel’s so-called occupation of so-called Palestinian lands “really interacts” with how black Americans are treated. Tlaib then claimed that “cutting people off from water is violence” (whatever that means) – something she claimed was done “from Gaza to Detroit.”
Tlaib went on to claim that “the structure we’ve been living under right now is designed by those who exploit the rest of us for their own profit.” Then, in a rather not-so-subtle way to blame it on the Joooooos, Tlaib told her audience of nitwits that if they “look behind the curtain, it’s the same people that make money,” claiming that these “same people” (aka the Joooooos) make money off of racism.
Even the completely unreliable Anti-Defamation League knew what Rashida was saying. The head of the ADL, Jonathan Greenblatt responded “We’ve heard this kind of ugly anti-Semitic dog whistle before,” noting that it is especially appalling coming from an elected member of Congress.
But again. Where has Jonathan Greenblatt been? Rashida Tlaib has been spitting out ugly anti-Semitic garbage like this since before she ever became an elected member of Congress.
In his op-ed, Milbank excoriated Tlaib for refusing to clarify or mitigate her latest remarks, calling the move politically dumb. Citing the escalating anti-Semitic violence in the US over the last few years, Milbank said Tlaib’s unwillingness to respond is all the more disconcerting.
Milbank wants Democrats and “others on the left” to “call this what it is: bigotry.”
Yeah, that’s not going to happen. Okay, maybe Jewish Democrats in Congress will say something – just as they did after Ilham Omar’s most recent attack against Jews. But nobody in the Democrat leadership is going to do a thing about it. They never do.
But of course because Milbank is a Leftist, he couldn’t just keep his focus on Rashida Tlaib. Nope. He had to drag former President Donald Trump into his column as well – claiming that Tlaib’s rhetoric is derived from the strategies used by Trump. What nonsense. But what do you expect?
Everything is always Trump’s fault.
