(PatriotWise.com) — One of Fox News’ biggest donors, Mike Lindell, has said he is “going after” House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy for providing video footage of the January 6th riots on Capitol Hill to the Network. He has also said that Fox News cannot be trusted and is engaged in censorship. On his online show The Lindell Report, he said, “Remember, remember, everybody, you can’t talk about elections on Fox News. You can’t talk about machines. You can’t talk about things that work instead of the vaccine. You can’t talk about any of these things on Fox.”
It was revealed in February that McCarthy had given exclusive access to 41,000 hours of footage from the Capitol buildings, some of which had not been published due to security concerns. McCarthy has defended his decision to provide the footage to Carlson and given assurances that security at the Capitol would not be jeopardized. He also said that the footage will be released to the public in due course and that CNN had already exclusively received some of it when the Democrats controlled the House last year.
Democrats however have complained that McCarthy’s move gives the network an opportunity to rewrite history and set the narrative as to what happened on the day the violence erupted. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) wrote on Twitter that the footage could be used to promote so-called conspiracy theories in the run-up to the 2024 election. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) echoed those fears and said it will be used to promote Trump propaganda and become a “roadmap for a 2024 insurrection.”
Tucker Carlson responded to criticisms saying he fully intends to present the information honestly and fails to understand why the issue has stoked such controversy. He added that it is in the public interest for the footage to be made available and it will reveal to Americans exactly what happened on January 6th. “It’s impossible for me to understand why any honest person would be bothered by that,” he said.
