(PatriotWise.com)- Fundraising is unavoidable. Political parties must have adequate funding for the next elections. However, Democrats who are part of the party’s establishment appear to view the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade as primarily a fundraising opportunity. In this email, Nancy Pelosi says that if you do not send her a “gift” of $15, it will “be the single most devastating setback for Democrats’ chances of winning this election and protecting women’s reproductive freedoms nationwide.” Pelosi is asking for donations to protect women’s reproductive rights across the country.
This sort of communication is not unlike any gimmicky email that desperate politicians send to the people who support them.
I asked you Monday.
I asked you Tuesday.
I asked you Wednesday.
I asked you Thursday.
I’m truly sorry to ask you again today.
In the email, Pelosi went on to say her team just notified her that they did not fulfill the FIRST End Quarter Deadline that was set yesterday after the decision made by the Supreme Court. She wasn’t going to soft-soap it. Suppose she could not secure 1,387 additional donations before midnight tonight to balance the budget shortfall. In that case, it will be the most damaging setback for the chances of the Democrats winning this election and defending women’s reproductive choices across the country.
She said it was the time to put your $15 where your mouth is if you’ve been waiting for the right opportunity.
She wanted to know to what extent she could rely on you?
She said that “right at that moment,” she received a phone call that alerted her to a critical situation, making her heart sink.
So send her more money!
Nancy Pelosi, for sure, must have a brilliant strategy for protecting a woman’s right to choose whether or not to have an abortion, but where is it in this plea for money. And how would the money be used to “save democracy.”
If someone was pro-choice and they wanted to give money, it would be better off going directly to groups that offer abortions and not to a career politician that seems to be exploiting an issue for a money grab.
Princeton researchers discovered in 2020 that fundraising emails from all parties frequently use “manipulative methods,” but not all Democratic or Democratically-aligned fundraisers go to that level. They found that Democratic and progressive campaigns and groups try to conduct themselves honestly, while most people are inundated with fundraising mailings designed to trick and deceive. They found that there are politicians and campaigns out there that have developed successful email fundraising strategies.
Pelosi isn’t one of them.
