(PatriotWise.com) — As “Yellowstone” concludes a season early, fans can expect more prequels and spinoffs to come from creator Taylor Sheridan, according to The Daily Caller. Sheridan has reportedly maintained an air of silence surrounding rumors that Yellowstone was ending as a result of Kevin Costner’s divorce from Christine Baumgartner.
Baumgartner filed for divorce while Costner was away working, and the move allegedly came as a surprise to the star. She allegedly demanded that he quit the show because of its shooting schedule. But a source close to the situation told People that the cancellation of the show is not connected to the divorce.

Nevertheless, fans can expect more of Sheridan’s work as he prepares to launch another series with Matthew McConaughey, should negotiations go as expected. It was originally thought that the original cast would join McConaughey in the new series but that may not be Sheridan’s style.
“My idea of a spinoff is the same as my idea of a prequel—read into that what you will,” he said, suggesting that the cast is going to be entirely new. He added that there are many places he could take the prequel but noted that there is still much to be done and figured out.
Fans may also get another surprise as even Keanu Reeves has expressed interest in working with Sheridan. Earlier this year, Reeves said that he would be open to acting in a western like Yellowstone. He discussed this prospect while visiting ET Canada during a “John Wick 4” movie tour.
News of another prequel comes as the WGA is still on strike, with “1923” being halted as a result. The strike recently hit its eight-week mark. The WGA also covers many popular animated series, such as Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, American Dad! and The Simpsons.
