Popular Singer Diagnosed With Blood Clots After Collapse

(PatriotWise.com) — On Thursday, Grammy-winner Tori Kelly updated fans on her health after she was rushed to the hospital earlier this week, Rolling Stone reported.

It was reported on Monday that the 30-year-old singer was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday after she collapsed while she was out to dinner with friends.

According to TMZ, sources said Kelly was unconscious after collapsing and remained “in and out of consciousness” at the hospital.

Kelly was reportedly being treated for multiple blood clots in her legs and lungs.

On Wednesday, her husband André Murillo updated fans on Instagram saying while Tori was “not fully out of the woods,” she was “feeling stronger.”

In a handwritten note posted on Instagram on Thursday, Kelly said she is “feeling stronger and hopeful,” but added that there were “still some things to uncover.” She said she was “grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses” who were looking after her.

Kelly was gearing up for the release of her latest EP “Tori” when her collapse occurred. The album launch show for the 7-track EP, which features songs with Jon Bellion and Arya Starr, that was planned for the Roxy in Los Angeles on Friday had to be canceled due to her illness.

In her handwritten note, Kelly said she was “heartbroken” about the planned release show but said, “my health must come first.”

Kelly first gained recognition as a teenager after appearing on the TV show “American Idol.”

At the 2016 Grammy Awards, she was nominated for Best New Artist. She won Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performances at the 2019 Grammy Awards for her album “Hiding Place.”

Kelly also voiced the character Meena in the animated movies “Sing” and “Sing 2.”
