Putin Enemy Dead After Allegedly Being Followed By Putin’s Secret Agent

(PatriotWise.com)- An investigation has revealed how former Russian opposition leader Boris Nemstov was followed by a Russian agent connected to a political assassination body for almost a year before he was eventually shot dead.

Nemstov, an opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was killed in 2015. It was the biggest political killing since Putin came to power in Russia, but certainly not the only instance of an opponent of the Russian president being killed by mysterious hitmen.

It’s something of a habit or a pastime for Vladimir Putin…

An investigation by The Insider, Belingcat, and the BBC has reportedly discovered evidence that Nemtsov was being “shadowed” on 13 different trips that he took before he was shot and killed. The former deputy prime minister under President Boris Yeltsin, Nemtsov was more than just an opponent to Vladimir Putin, but also a potential contender for Russian leadership. When Putin came to power Nemtsov focused his efforts on exposing corruption. He also denounced the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014.

The next year, on February 27, Nemtsov was shot and killed only yards away from the Kremlin and just a few days before he was expected to lead a huge protest against Russia’s war.

“Seven years later, the BBC – working with the investigative websites Bellingcat and The Insider – can reveal evidence that in the months running up to the killing, Nemtsov was being followed across Russia by a government agent linked to a secret assassination squad,” the BBC reports.

By using flight and train reservation data, obtained via leaks, investigators found that Nemtsov was followed on more than a dozen journeys before he died. 10 days before he was killed was the last time that an agent reportedly followed him.
