(PatriotWise.com)- Last Wednesday, Russian state media reported that the youngest daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin has been made the co-chair of an advisory group overseeing Russian imports.
Katerina Tikhonova, 35, was appointed to the import substitution coordination council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).
Established in 1990, the RSPP is a non-governmental group that promotes the interests of the Russian business community at home and abroad.
Tikhonova, a former competitive dancer who is now a tech executive, currently heads Innopraktika, a non-governmental development institution. She is also the director of two Moscow State University initiatives, the National Intellectual Development Foundation, and the National Intellectual Reserve Center.
The Russian president is very secretive about his personal life, refusing to publicly acknowledge how many children he has. But in the spring, the US Department of Treasury identified both Tikhonova and Maria Vladimirovnoa Vorontsova as his daughters.
According to the Treasury Department, Tikhonova’s work as a tech executive supports the Russian defense industry. Vorontsova, meanwhile, leads “state-funded programs” in genetics research that received billions from the Kremlin and are overseen personally by her father.
It is believed that both Tikhonova and Vorontsova are Putin’s daughters with his former wife, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya, whom he divorced nearly a decade ago after thirty years of marriage.
It was reported in April that Katerina Tikhonova has been secretly dating a man whose last name ironically is Zelensky.
Since her divorce in 2017, she has been involved with the former director of the Bavarian State Opera, Igor Zelensky, with whom she has a daughter.
The Russian-born Zelensky was forced out of the Bavarian State Opera for refusing to condemn Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
