Rachel Maddow Launches A New Podcast

(PatriotWise.com) — According to the Hollywood Reporter, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has added another podcast to her growing repertoire as part of her ongoing deal with NBCUniversal.

Her third podcast, “Rachel Maddow Presents: Déjà News,” will premiere next Monday as a limited 6-part series in which Maddow and her long-time producer Isaac-Davy Aronson touch on current news stories and their notable parallels with history.

Each of the six episodes will open with one of Maddow’s monologues setting up the current news story. Aronson will then guide the listener through the historical parallels.

According to MSNBC, the aim of the podcast is to “consider the ways in which history repeats itself,” while allowing listeners to view the “most perplexing topics” of the day “through a clearer, more rational lens.”

In a tweet on Monday, Maddow posted a link to the trailer for her new podcast.

While Maddow continues to host MSNBC’s 9:00 pm time slot on Mondays, last year she stepped back from doing the show nightly so she could focus on several other ventures with MSNBC’s parent company NBCUniversal. In addition to hosting “The Rachel Maddow Show” every Monday, Maddow also hosts major news events for the network.

In 2021, Maddow signed a deal with NBCUniversal that expanded her role with the company, featuring films, podcasts, and other content on the company’s various platforms.

Her foray into podcasting has been a hit for NBCUniversal, with her first two shows topping podcasting charts.

Maddow’s first podcast, “Rachel Maddow Presents: Bag Man,” chronicles the downfall of Nixon’s Vice President Spiro Agnew. The podcast spurred a best-selling book and will be made into a feature film directed by Ben Stiller.

Her second podcast, “Rachel Maddow Presents: Ultra” was a dive into the spread of Nazi propaganda during World War Two. Steven Spielberg’s production company has obtained the rights to the podcast for a possible feature film adaptation.

The 6-part “Rachel Maddow Presents: Déjà News” will air each Monday starting June 12.
