Rehab effort to make Kamala Harris more likable just crashed and burned in Paris

( Vice President Kamala Harris made another huge gaffe recently that just goes to show how unprepared she is for the job.

Harris recently traveled to France, and she toured the Institut Pasteur, where she spoke alongside scientists regarding the two countries’ alliance that was formed for scientific research. When she was speaking, Harris was videoed apparently using what many people described as a French accent.

Part of her speech also touched on how she believed that politicians should operate in a way that more closely resembles how scientists approach things.

She said:

“One of the things people in politics and government should really take from the approach of scientists, scientists operate with a hypothesis. I love that. A hypothesis, it’s well-thought-out, it’s well-planned, they start out with a hypothesis and then they test it out knowing invariably, you’re trying something for the first time, there will be glitches, there will be mistakes.

“Then everyone gets together, no one gets beat up about it, you analyze it — what went wrong, reevaluate, update the hypothesis and start again.”

The vice president got herself in trouble, though, as she continued to talk. She appeared to be mocking politicians — like herself — and how they always stick to a certain thing they call “The Plan” on which they campaigned.

Whenever she was referring to that “plan” in her talk, though, she appeared to be talking in a French accent. She said:

“In government, we campaign with ‘The Plan. Uppercase T, uppercase P, ‘The Plan!’ And then the environment is such we’re expected to defend ‘The Plan’ even when the first time we roll it out there may be some glitches and it’s time to reevaluate and then do it again.”

It was another cringeworthy moment for Harris, who seems to always have them. It’s one thing to try to tell the world’s politicians, of which she is one, that they need to approach life as if they were scientists.

But, to be so out of touch to use a French accent when speaking in France is on a whole other level. It’s downright disrespectful to the people who are in the room, sharing the stage with you.

Harris, who is of Asian descent, would surely be offended if someone used a Japanese accent when talking alongside Japanese scientists. So, why, then, would she think it appropriate to use a French accent when talking alongside French scientists?

People should not just be shocked that this came out of a vice president’s mouth. They should be appalled.

Many people took to social media to voice their anger at Harris’ actions. Scott Jennings, a contributor to CNN, quipped:

“This is what Biden thinks of France, our oldest ally.”

It’s incidents like these that should have members of the Democratic Party re-thinking their apparent support for Harris as the next big presidential candidate from their party.

If Harris doesn’t change her ways soon — if she’s even able to do that — she’ll get crushed in any presidential contest, just like she did in the 2020 Democratic primary.
