Russia Gives Chernobyl Orders, Risking World To Radiation

( As Russian troops continue their invasion of Ukraine, the famous Chernobyl nuclear power plant has been seized by Russian forces following a “fierce” battle with Ukrainian troops. Reports suggest that the condition of the nuclear storage facilities on the state is “unknown.”

It has sparked major concerns in Europe that a radiation leak could pose a threat to surrounding areas.

Video footage that went viral on social media shows how Russian armored vehicles and tanks approached the region, eventually parking outside of the destroyed nuclear reactor which is only 60 miles away from the capital city of Kiev.

Officials claimed that a Russian bomb hit one of the radioactive waste repositories on the site which caused an increase in radiation levels in the area.

The International Atomic Energy Agency issued a statement that it was following the situation, describing their “grave concern:” about the matter. The agency also called for Russia to exercise restraint to stop the risk of the Ukrainian nuclear facilities becoming less stable and posing a risk to human life in the region.

Myhailo Podolyak, an advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said that it is “impossible” to say whether the famous Chernobyl nuclear power plant is safe.
