Sen Manchin Calls For Cease And Desist To Socialist Spending Bills

( Moderate Democrat Senator Joe Manchin is standing up to the radicals in his party, announcing that he supports a pause in extremist spending bills as Democrats attempt to strong-arm him into accepting the latest round of multi-trillion-dollar spending plans.

The West Virginia Senator announced in a Wall Street Journal piece that Congress’ appetite to keep spending gigantic sums of money would ultimately cause problems in the future – not to mention continue the trend of inflation. And without Manchin’s vote, the Democrats don’t have a chance of passing anything in the Senate, even through a simple majority budget resolution vote.

“Instead of rushing to spend trillions on new government programs and additional stimulus funding, Congress should hit a strategic pause on the budget-reconciliation legislation,” Manchin said.

You know what that means? The $3.5 trillion far-left spending package is unlikely to pass in the Senate – and especially so if Senator Kyrsten Sinema does the same.

In the piece, Manchin said that a pause is necessary as it will “provide more clarity on the trajectory of the pandemic” and will allow the United States to determine whether this period of inflation is temporary or not. It was a clear reference to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s claim that inflation is temporary and will revert to normal soon.

Manchin has a good point. How can we know if inflation is transitory if we continue spending unprecedented sums of money?

Manchin said that he has always said that if he “can’t explain it” then he “can’t vote for it” – and he can’t explain why his Democrat colleagues are rushing to spend $3.5 trillion.

Thank goodness for the remaining sane Democrats.
