(PatriotWise.com) — Rapper Snoop Dogg has changed his tune about Donald Trump, The Hill reported.
In a wide-ranging interview with the UK Sunday Times last weekend, the American rapper was asked what he thought about the presumptive Republican nominee and his chances in the 2024 presidential election.
Dogg, who previously criticized and attacked Trump as dangerous and reckless, told the Sunday Times that Trump “ain’t done nothing wrong to me.”
The rapper said Trump had done “great things,” citing his pardon of former Suge Knight associate Michael “Harry-O” Harris.
In one of his last acts as president, Trump commuted the sentence of Harris, the Death Row Records co-founder who had served 30 years of a life sentence for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Death Row Records signed Snoop early on in his career.
Dogg told the Sunday Times that he had “nothing but love and respect” for Trump.
Snoop Dogg’s change of tune is surprising given his previous comments about the Republican presidential candidate.
In an interview in 2015, Snoop Dogg endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, saying he would “love to see a woman in office.”
Just weeks before Mrs. Clinton faced off against Donald Trump in the 2016 election, Snoop Dogg was asked by Rolling Stone about calling Trump a “punk-ass.” The rapper asked how anyone as “reckless” as Trump could be permitted to run the country.
Snoop Dogg generated outrage among Trump supporters in 2017 after he shared on social media an EP cover for “Make America Crip Again” that showed him standing over a dead body draped in an American flag wearing a toe tag that read, “TRUMP.”
That same year, Snoop Dogg was featured in a video that showed him pointing a gun at a clown dressed like Donald Trump
Dogg also slammed fellow rapper Kanye West for openly supporting Trump’s presidency, asking in a 2018 interview how a black man like West could support a “motherf*cking racist” like Trump.
