Tenant Is the Main Suspect in the Disappearance of a Washington Couple

(PatriotWise.com) — The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office confirmed last Saturday that they had made an arrest in connection with the disappearance of a Washington state couple whom investigators believe are likely dead, NBC News reported.

The sheriff’s office last Friday arrested Timothy Burke, a tenant of Karen Koep and her husband Davido, who were reported missing the previous Monday. Burke was booked into Thurston County Jail and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and a count of kidnapping.

Davido and Karen Koep were listed as missing when the sheriff’s deputies did a welfare check at their residence after Karen failed to show up at her chiropractic office on November 13. According to a press release issued on November 14, the circumstances of their disappearances were considered “suspicious.”

The couple’s vehicle, which was not parked at their Lake Forest development, was later found in Olympia.

Sheriff’s detectives, working with local, state, and federal law enforcement, opened an investigation into the couple’s disappearance.

In a press release on November 18, the sheriff’s office said it appeared that the couple was attacked in their residence and had likely not survived.

Karen Koep’s sister, Pauline Dutton, said she last communicated with her sister on November 10 via text message. No one heard from Koep after that.

While authorities did not say how Burke was connected to the Koep’s, according to Pauline Dutton, he lived for free in a rental property owned by the couple in exchange for doing work for Davido.

The couple remains missing. The sheriff’s office described Davido as a 6-foot-tall white man weighing approximately 180 pounds. Karen Koep is a 5-foot-4-inch white woman who weighs approximately 115 pounds. Photographs of the couple have been shared online and circulated by the sheriff’s office.
