Tom Cotton Urges Biden To Stand Up To Democrats

(PatriotWise.com)- Republican Senator for Arkansas Tom Cotton called on President Joe Biden to do more about his party sympathizing with Palestinian terrorists on Wednesday, slamming Congressional Democrats who appear to be siding with Hamas as rockets rain down on Israel.

A day before a cease-fire was agreed between Israel and Hamas – after weeks of rockets being fired into Israel by Palestinian Islamic militants – Senator Cotton slammed the Democratic Party’s “Squad” of far-left representatives who refuse to recognize the terrorist activity directed towards Israel.

“The Democratic Party increasingly … is filled with people like Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who are in effect sympathizing with terrorists,” Senator Cotton said on Fox News.

He told “The Faulkner Focus” that he stands with the Israeli government and the people of Israel as they use their Iron Dome system – which utilizes advanced missile interception technology – to protect themselves. Senator Cotton also reaffirmed his support of Israel’s right to use weapons to “destroy these terrorist organizations.”

Cotton said that it was unfortunate to see a “large and growing” anti-Israel movement within the Democratic Party and that some of those involved with it are anti-Semitic. He argued that President Joe Biden should be firmly standing up to the anti-Israel voices in his party, including far-left Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“But it is obvious that he is caving in,” he said.

President Joe Biden has recognized Israel’s right to defend itself in recent weeks, though has been less than forthcoming about his opinion on the ongoing war against the Jewish people by Hamas.

Senator Cotton noted how President Biden said just days ago that he supported a cease-fire, only to go on and give Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a stern talking to.” And then, he said, the president said he “expects” de-escalation.

“Who cares what Joe Biden expects?” he asked.

Good point.
