(PatriotWise.com)- Antony Blinken, President Joe Biden’s Secretary of State, has stepped up the narrative against Russia, threatening “consequences” if Moscow continues to ramp up militaristic rhetoric against Ukraine.
During an interview with “Meet the Press” on NBC, Blinken made direct threats against Russia and didn’t indicate any willingness from the Biden administration to engage in constructive and diplomatic discussions on the issue.
It comes as the number of Ukrainian troops killed by Russian aggression this year rises to 28, and the number of Russian troops stationed in Crimea increases to 42,000. Some 41,000 Russian troops are also stationed on the eastern border of Ukraine.
Blinken did say that the United States and Russia have a common interest in working together, but aggressively slammed the nation and made direct threats on behalf of President Joe Biden.
“President Biden’s been very clear about this, If Russia acts recklessly, or aggressively, there will be costs, there will be consequences,” Blinken told NBC.
Great. That’s just what America needs. A war with Russia.
Blinken is following on from decades of precedent set by successive Democrat presidents who have waged war across the world, and earlier this month, the United States Navy sent two warships to the Black Sea amidst increasing tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed that a notice was sent to them in March via diplomatic channels that the two U.S. warships would be passing the Black Sea.
“The ships will remain in the Black Sea until May 4,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry added.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that sending the ships to the region is “nothing new,” but the increase in militaristic and threatening rhetoric from Secretary Blinken indicates that the Biden administration is more than willing to engage in a new war.
Or, at least, is keen to make Russia think the United States is ready for a war.
But if President Joe Biden thinks Russian President Putin will back down, we only need to look back to Biden’s “killer” comments about Putin in recent weeks. When the U.S. president lashed out at Putin, the Russian president responded by challenging Biden to a live debate.
Which, obviously, Biden didn’t take up.
Kirby told reporters on April 6 that the United States continued to stand “for the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of Ukraine” and that the Biden administration will “continue to call on Russia not to conduct provocations and not to increase tensions.”
Does anybody honestly believe that Putin will listen to anything that Biden says?
