Trump Endorses Wendy Rogers

( On Monday, former President Donald Trump released a statement endorsing Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers in her reelection next year.

Calling Rogers “a MAGA warrior who loves our Country,” Trump praised her for her “great fighting spirit.” He also plugged her strong positions on law and order, border security, and the Second Amendment.

And while he did not specifically cite Rogers’ persistence over 2020 election fraud, there is no doubt President Trump’s endorsement for a candidate who faces no primary challenger was prompted in large part because of her vocal insistence in a nationwide audit of the 2020 election results.

Rogers has gained national prominence among pro-Trump circles that still hold out hope that the election of Joe Biden might be decertified and Trump named the 2020 winner.

Currently, only one Democrat has notified Arizona’s Secretary of State that he intends to run against Rogers in 2022. But until the final district boundaries are adopted, it isn’t certain how competitive Rogers’ district will be for a Democrat challenger.

In addition to endorsing Rogers, Trump also issued a statement endorsing former state Rep. Anthony Kern. The former President called Kern “an incredible fighter for Election Integrity,” and said he would “bring back honesty to our voting system.”

Kern was the only Arizona Republican lawmaker to lose reelection in 2020, placing third in a 3-way race and losing to Democrat Judy Schwiebert. Kern was initially hired to help with the Arizona 2020 election audit but was eventually banned from participating because his name was on the ballot. He was also a plaintiff on the federal lawsuit challenging the 2020 election results in Arizona. That lawsuit was thrown out.

Kern is running for the state Senate seat currently held by Republican Paul Boyer. Boyer announced last week that he would not be seeking reelection.
