(PatriotWise.com)- During a recent interview with Fox News, former President Donald Trump offered some advice to the Biden administration, recommending that they stop demonstrating “such weakness” to Beijing.
In September, President Joe Biden spoke to Chinese President Xi Jinping for the second time since he entered the White House. And, according to the Biden administration, the president “made clear” that the discussion would be part of the United States’ ongoing efforts to “manage competition between the United States and the PRC.”
But after the call, the White House said that the two world leaders talked about the responsibilities that they have to ensure that this competition “does not veer into conflict” and ever since then, the Biden administration has repeated the line that they “welcome stiff competition” over and over again.
Do they welcome stiff competition when it comes to China building hundreds of new silos for the expected 1,000 nuclear weapons that will be in their arsenal by the end of the decade?
Trump said that the current strategy isn’t working, recognizing the obvious threat that China poses to the rest of the world.
“I don’t think it is a good way to express it to China,” he said. “It shows such weakness. We have shown such weakness.”
Trump added that China respected the United States when he was in office, but that this is no longer the case.
He added that the message of welcoming competition with China is “not a good message.”
During the Trump administration, a Phase 1 trade agreement was signed with China, with plans to extend that trade agreement. The agreement included commitments from China that they would stop all intellectual property theft and stop currency manipulation – but now that Biden is in office, that trade agreement has been thrown out the window.
President Trump promoted fair trade with China, Biden promotes “competition.” Which one was working better?
