Trump Says Phase Two China Deal “Last Thing” He’s Thinking About

( President Donald Trump said on Monday that making progress on phase two of a trade deal with China is the “last thing” he is thinking about. The president made the comments during an interview with Breitbart News in the Oval Office on Monday, and explained that he isn’t looking at making progress on negotiations for a new deal with the authoritarian communist nation while he continues to navigate the economic damage caused by the Chinese coronavirus.

“We made a great deal on the phase one deal,” the president said. “The last thing I think about right now is phase two. It’s the last thing I’m thinking about right now, is a China phase two deal, after what they did to us on the China virus.”

A reporter pushed the president on what he plans to do in response to the outbreak of the virus and if he intends to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for allowing it to leave the country. At this point, the president articulated that China should have stopped the virus as soon as it was discovered, but didn’t suggest what he would do in response.

“We’ll see what happens,” Trump said. “I can’t tell you yet, but we’ll see what happens. They certainly started it and they could have held it. Look, it didn’t get into China. But it went all over the world. They could have stopped it. They should have.”

President Trump then detailed some of the work he’s done as president so far to combat unfair trade affairs with Chinese and the ruling Communist Party. He outlined the tariffs placed on Chinese imports and how his government has “given $28 billion to our farmers because they were targeted by China.”

While the president refrains from negotiating further with the Chinese, he’s moving forward with plans to stop the Chinese government accessing American data through the use of acts. In a series of recent executive orders, President Trump told American companies that they should stop doing business with Bytedance, the Chinese owner of the popular social media app TikTok, unless it is sold in 45 days.

Of course, left-wing outlets (including tech outlets) are freaking out that Trump took action…and they all completely ignore the fact that the app can potentially record all data from other apps on any user’s phone.

If you have TikTok installed on your phone, you have no idea where your personal data is being sent.
