Trump Takes Big Swing At Paul Ryan: “Never Going Back…”

(PatriotWise.com) — Donald Trump has said that the Republican Party cannot return to the days of Paul Ryan and that the MAGA movement is the only future the party has. He was speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland, when he said that upon his arrival in politics, the Republican party was “ruled by freaks, neocons, globalists, open border zealots, and fools.” He added, “But we are never going back to the party of Paul Ryan and Karl Rove and Jeb Bush.”

The former President has been involved in a long-standing feud with Paul Ryan, going back several years. Ryan has been against a Trump Presidency since the billionaire first threw his hat into the ring. He described Trump as immoral and unfit to hold the Presidency of the United States, but when the nomination was won by the MAGA campaign for 2016, Ryan decided to bite his tongue.

The former House Speaker attacked Trump for his “racist comments” and for “cheating on his wife.” In an interview with Politico in 2019, Ryan said, “I told myself, I got to have a relationship with this guy to help him get his mind right. Because I’m telling you, he didn’t know anything about government.”

More recently, he said that Trump cannot win again and even diehard MAGA supporters know it. He is among many key Republican figures to cast doubt on the former President’s campaign for 2024, but most have remained tight-lipped. The feud between the two men was fuelled further when Trump said Mitt Romney could have beaten Obama with a different running mate. “Paul Ryan is a loser, Mitt Romney could have won without him,” Trump wrote on his Truth social media account. In response, Ryan turned the tables and claimed the Republicans lost control of the Senate in 2020 and again in 2022 largely because of Donald Trump.

Paul Ryan announced his resignation from politics halfway through Trump’s term at the White House.
