(PatriotWise.com)- Breitbart Editor Alex Marlow’s new book Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption came out on Tuesday and is already making waves.
One of the first explosive reports to come from the book involves the relationship between Michael Bloomberg’s massive news conglomerate and the Chinese Communist Party propaganda office.
In addition to complying with CCP censors, Bloomberg executives regularly traveled to China to meet with senior CCP officials in state propaganda.
The crux of the story is disturbing. By working with China’s propaganda office, Bloomberg News is not only looking to comply with CCP censorship within China; it is, according to Marlow’s investigation, also working to present “China and Chinese stories to the world.”
In short, Marlow is arguing that Bloomberg News agreed to serve as a propaganda outlet for the Communist Chinese Government. Worse still, this propaganda relationship with the CCP is, according to Marlow, “not limited to Bloomberg.”
On Monday, Fox News Host Tucker Carlson had Marlow on to discuss this story.
On the one hand, this news doesn’t come as too much of a shock. American corporations complying and cooperating with the Chinese Communist regime has become quite commonplace.
From Hollywood to the NBA to major corporations like Coca Cola and Nike, American corporations hoping to cash in on the lucrative Chinese market have been more than happy to play by the Communist government’s rules.
But Bloomberg is a news outlet which is why Marlow’s report is all the more troubling. As he pointed out to Tucker, Bloomberg News is the biggest employer of journalists on the planet. An American news outlet willing to work with Chinese propagandists should concern every American.
This kind of hand-in-glove partnership between American news corporations and the Communist Chinese Government certainly sheds some light on why the American news media worked so hard to downplay China’s involvement in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Back in February 2020 when Senator Tom Cotton suggested that the US investigate whether the virus originated, not in the Wuhan wet markets, but at the Chinese disease research facility in Wuhan, the American news media immediately decried his suggestion as “debunked” “conspiracy theory.”
It wasn’t debunked.
And now we know it wasn’t a “conspiracy theory.”
Likewise, in April of 2020, CNN ran an article about China’s success at controlling COVID among its Navy. The article in question was a reprint from the Chinese State-run paper “Global Times.” It was only after CNN received push-back that it changed the story headline to read “Chinese State Media Claims Country’s Navy Not Affected by Coronavirus.”
Marlow’s report begs the question. Just how much of the news Americans receive is influenced by America’s biggest geopolitical foe?
